Shanghai, China, 23 February 2006. A UNITAR representative visited CIFAL Shanghai to discuss further cooperation between the Shanghai Municipal Government and UNITAR. CIFAL Shanghai was officially approved by the Foreign Affiars Bureau of the municipality after one year of pilot phase which was ended in 2005.

Both parties agreed to organize 2 to 3 training workshops this year on e-Governance and possibly other topics. The first training session is planned to take place sometime in the first half of this year.
