Plock, Poland, 4–6 April 2005. CIFAL Plock will hold its first workshop on e-administration from 4 to 6 April 2005. This workshop is targeted for Mayors and Heads of IT departments of cities of Eastern Europe and the main focus of this workshop is how to utilize Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for city administration. The three-day programme includes lectures by experts within Eastern Europe and abroad, as well as UNITAR’s Knowledge Management exercises in order to facilitate knowledge sharing and city-to-city cooperation among participants.
Around thirty Mayors and Heads of IT departments are expected to attend this workshop. Mr. Mirosław Milewski, Mayor of Plock, Ms. Louise Lassonde, Senior Programme Coordinator of UNITAR, Ms. Nicole Hill, Head of Local Authorities & Government Vertical Market of ALCATEL, Mr. Igor Chalupec, President of PKN Orlen and Ms. Anna Darska, Resident Representative of UNDP Poland, will deliver keynote addresses for the opening. This workshop is one of the technical workshops leading toward the II World Summit of Cities and Local Authorities on the Information Society (Bilbao Summit 2005) and the recommendations and action plans resulting from this workshop will be an important input for the Bilbao Summit.
