Durban, South Africa, 17-19 May 2005. The second workshop in CIFAL Durban, focused on “e-Administration” was successfully held; it was supported by ALCATEL and the City of Durban (eThekwini). 18 participants from 6 African countries were representing 9 different cities and local authorities (including most capital cities).
The Knowledge Management methodology was well appreciated by the participants, as well as the field visits at Smartxchange centre.
This workshop is part of the preparatory process of the 2nd World Summit for Cities and Local Governments for the Information Society which will be held in Bilbao (Spain) in November 2005. The results of the workshop will be included as contribution of the African cities to the Summit Declaration and Action Plan.
