CIFAL Atlanta is organizing the first “City AIDS Colombia and Latin America Workshop” in Medellin, Colombia, from the 19th to 21st April, 2007.

The International Training Centre for Local Authorities (CIFAL) in Atlanta, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), and the United Nation Program on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS), in partnership with the Municipality of Medellín and the Colombian Corporation of Secretaries of Health (COSESAM) are organizing the “City AIDS Colombia and Latin America Conference” in Medellin, Colombia, from the 19th to 21st April, 2007.

Around 90 participants coming from the most important Latin-American cities are expected to participate in this seminar. They will represent more than 20 municipalities in Colombia and 11 cities in other Latin American countries.

The aim of this workshop is to enhance local competences in responding to AIDS by sharing good practices and successful experiences from other Latin American Cities. Dr. Alfredo Palacio, former President of Ecuador, will attend this meeting. As key-note-speaker, he will held a presentation on “Public Policies and Health” on the 19th April.
